Most employees, former or current NEVER used a facility using any of their products. From a allscripts standpoint way too many gossip, insecure and snakes

What was this uplift which keeps being mentioned? Apm has always been a POS low end product in the industry. Well before the mergers. Any attempt to uplift anything around apm like putting up window treatments in an outhouse. Was this a total rewrite, a false UI?

Why was the multi million dollar contract signed with the 3rd party vendor doing the Uplift when all they had to do was to layoff the people and toss the contract into the bin? If I am not mistaken, the contract was approved by current boss of Veradigm in conjunction with current chief financial boss. Were they so short sighted that they could not even see 1 year down the line? If so, are they fit to be in the position they hold currently are? The uplift contract going to toss is one more failure added to modernize the product.

Wondering if the JM\JC aka the geniuses thought about the impact to ProEHR and TW. With almost whole team wiped out, who is going to work on an escalated issue that is sent to "development" from one of the APM Top20(or 10 or whaterver) clients that the previous leadership showed in one of their meetings with the development in the past. From the experience I can say is some of the clients are very demanding and their issues are particularly tricky even though they are not on very latest version of the product or the interface engine.

What doesn't make sense is that Veradigm has thousands of PRO EMR customers (generally working from double wides treating moonshine overdoses, etc.) but they all use APM. If APM goes to he-l, these practices will leave for eCW, Athena or something else which will hurt Veradigm significantly.
Also, the Altera TW customers that also have APM, will liekly bolt sooner that the PRO customers.
This whole thing makes no sense.

Veradigm seemed to be headed for this massive layoff from day 1 when it came to APM. There was no communication from JM/JC, none whatsoever. The writing was on the wall, they just held that carrot just close enough to "all is good" to "we have a plan, told you the plan, just you are not the plan".

If I recall RD in one of the clumps was headed up by a former office manager, with ZERO development skills background? How does that happen?

I am also betting that person who is advocating "shakeup" and feels that Allscripts\Veradigm is heading in great direction (which is their biggest misconception ever) is a clueless decision maker who doesn't know how the product used to work. If the management and leadership was competent enough, they could have identified those who actually forced the developers to follow wrong decisions. They had all the metrics available in the world to actually track down individual performances but instead they just chose to watch the show cluelessly without ever making an effort to understand what market wanted and asking "are we even close to implementing it?". When another incompetent leadership took over APM in 2022, they fired who were simply following the orders and not the ones giving foolish orders (another foolish order added to long list). Having worked very closely with the team facing the clients, I can say that indeed there was bad code pushed by some folks, but more importantly clients were frustrated with the decisions that were taken by the leadership to not move the product technically until it was too late. If they truly wanted to go in the great direction, the decision makers needed to be replaced not the ones who implemented it. Domain knowledge is treasure which these laid off people had, new workers along with this clueless Veradigm bosses is not even going to have 1% of what was laid off. They still have some of the solutions group so it may add to their advantage.

It seems history repeats itself. Worker bees pay the price for "decision" makers. History dictates that more worker bees will be let go for the decisions made, but new decisions will live long

I'd agree with the person below, but the "old guard" is still there from the product team. They pushed out the people implementing the poor product direction, not people making those decisions.

If there was truly a push to shift the product you aren't going to get those "fresh ideas and motivated workers" from the same people who've been making calls the last 5-10 years and haven't moved the product forward durning that time.

I'm betting that the person who posted the statement below is someone who produces work at a blistering pace just to get the credit and then later someone else has to come along and fix it!!!! I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone push out bad code just to get it done and tick it off their list. "BARE MINIMUM " also applies to people who do a pi-s pore job and then leaves the aftermath for others. It doesn' t matter how good the "new" idea is if it isn't implemented well and people don't care enough to support it.

[With that in mind, Veradigm/Allscripts needed fresh ideas and motivated workers. Their was many “long time employees” that just “clocked in” and did BARE MINIMUM. Veradigm is headed in a great direction, and like all new ideas, etc; a shakeup needed to happen.]

Won't take long for the remaining Allstars to retire or quit. Many have been hanging on to complete the rewrite, which one has to assume is toast now.
So this ki-ls APM, which Altera Touchworks uses....bet those dopes there are clueless to the impact, like they are clueless to the common components/transaction systems dependencies!

Great teams there...miss them but glad I got out. Good luck to both those who were impacted and to the survivors trying to hold the remains together!

We were a great team that worked well together. You cannot get oil from a turnip and that is what the new executive management team does not seem to understand. For the sake of those that are left and the customers invested in the APM//VPM product, I hope your new plan and vision are
successful.

Many of us, that were discharged Wednesday, have untold years invested in the success of the company and this product (and it’s predecesssor). We will be watching from the sidelines.

Can we here more about this huge technical uplift? I have been away for some time now but are aware the "cast" in place back then is still in place now . None of them have skills to advance anything technical let alone understand anything technical related to computers. Curious what this big up lift is that supposed to revive a POS product line.?

If APM quality and support take a hit, it will also affect Altera as many of their customers that use TouchWorks also use APM with it.
Did MP and his band of due diligence dwarfs understand the TW -APM dynamic when they agreed to by TW ?

Its amazing that anyone is defending the product. Management knows that its not going anywhere, those who still have it have determined its their best option now and they dont have to try. They are going to do bare minimum.

This comment (quoted at the end) is fundamentally UNTRUE and lacks: context; the understanding of the complexity of Allscripts Practice Management; and the appreciation of the talent required to provide quality support to clients while delivering a rich and customizable set of practice management and regulatory features to thousands of physicians across the USA.

If Veradigm/Allscripts is headed anywhere its downwards and nowhere else. With the new leadership taking over, they were\are clueless on where they want the product to see. The product was in the middle of huge technological uplift when this move happened. Now, they don't have anyone wo can closely work with the 3rd party vendor doing the uplift. If the leadership was smart enough or they think the company is heading in great directions with new ideas, why to invest such a big amount in the product in first place. This clearly shows lack of idea, vision and leadership. I was in a townhall call with one of the VP's few months ago after they took over APM, and he was clueless about any questions being asked to him and just passed the ball to others(who were equally clueless). While there may be a "few" of them "clocking bare minimum", those employees were treasure of knowledge and knew the products inside out even to that extent that just by looking at the issue, they could tell the exact cause. You need that kind of talent who does bare minimum but gets your sh-t done. The clear indication of company's\product's downfall was many great employees leaving before hand along with the product director who nurtured this product unlike anyone. With him left, it was evident that things are gonna fall, and in less than a year, things happened.

Customer confusion. Allscripts Practice Management, being rebranded as Veradigm Practice Management. Right in the middle of a huge UI Uplift. Most of the US based development team with years of knowledge were let go 2/8 in a major reorg. This includes quality engineers and developers (who do the coding}, business analysts and at least one key solutions person. Additionally, corresponding positions in India were eliminated. Project managers were also dismissed. A small team is left in the US and India. Some staff associated with Allscripts interface Engine (AIE/VIE) also impacted. This is real. Not a phantom posting. Much confusion exists among all that were let go and all that remain on staff.
