It’s not just ESPN, in corporate you have fat at the top while running lean in performing the actual work. Think paralegals or the H1 tech types. This is true in many orgs but especially here.

Only way to cut is at the top. Or simply cut offered services to reduce demand and service, and accept Disney will be a smaller entity (ripe for acquisition).

I can’t believe a few years ago we were thinking Disney would take over the world. Classic example of static management. And I do fault Iger more than Chapek for root cause.

Many pro games are relying on Bally for the bulk of camera feeds.

that's not good

I wish this website would have kept my warnings (layoff concern posts) on here from late last year and this year. But, the website deemed them polXXXXX.

I'm tried.

I'm so sorry for the 7,000 employees.

An example of an ESPN+ using students when televised games would have been done by professionals in the past. There’s no place to cut the budget.

ESPN is in a bad place. Student crews are already producing most college games. Many pro games are relying on Bally for the bulk of camera feeds. Directors and replay operators are in Connecticut. The only fat to cut is in management.

There is probably truth in this, but I wouldn't listen to Business Insider. Might as well be Buzzfeed.
