So Bernard laid off thousands of experienced oil and gas employees and now he wants to pivot back to oil and gas jus two years later? What a waste of resources. He should be shown the door.

It would be nice to not have a multi decade economic outlook of a global supermajor at the mercy of the feelings of an uneducated and mentally challenged european teenager.
I recall being pulled into an Upstream townhall a few years back where we forced to watch G Thunbr*g and told that we had to respond as a company.
Perhaps when BP stops taking its strategy cues from children and pays attention to its own stat report it could start to compete with the big boys again.
Never going to happen under BL and DL unfortunately
Dev and his LT totally sold the company down a River! Then he jumped ship before having to explain why he got it so badly wrong. Next big round of write downs - following the billions in GOM a few years back. No coincidence that the same individuals would be involved in both.
Yes BP payed ridiculous premiums for “green” assets.
No financial Mumbo-jumbo can cover that (from a very highly placed person)
is BL realy over paying for renewable assets?
Just wait until they need to start writing down their wind and solar commitments. It’s never good when you put in a bit for an auction and the regulator asks you if you are sure because your number is so high compared to everyone else. Crazy town.
Here is the smell test - you have an oil guy managing a “greening company”. Like China, anyone who invests in this thing should be fired. That said, if they sack Looney the stock will rise by 10% no problem. Pitch Murray and you get another 5%. BL can carry his own bags.
I agree 100%
