My manager claims he doesn't know if our team will be impacted by layoffs yet and we should know more next week. I would imagine managers know if their teams are being impacted in advance, right? and who on their team? Doesn't really make sense to me..

Managers should not be deciding …
SAP should have objective measures and KPIs to determine human capital contribution. Those who are missing targets should be provided support to gain the skills or needed capabilities to succeed in their roles.
Massive reactive events every few years is not constructive. Make such decisions continuously.
I know that what I’m asking requires engagement and active management. 🤦♂️ these managers are the first ones who should be let go. I would go so far as require a minimum of 3x managers per employee.
Simplify the org … increase decision-making speed, clarify accountability, and improve customer outcomes. The “management” layers don’t contribute materially to any of these outcomes. Bo--s away. 🤯.
Invites go out on Monday. Enjoy the Super Bowl weekend.
If pattern continues NA will be hit hard.
Managers are not the one deciding whom to lay-off. It is decided much above at L2 level, and impacted individuals managers will be notified. Since this is decided at L2 levels, performance is not a criteria used. L2/L3 doesnt know about individual performances. Looks like certain countries like Brazil managers are notified last week.
Managers know at this point who is getting cut. Notifications to them happened last week, training on how to do it happened this week. Had to sign NDAs to not communicate anything, so possible your manager is tight lipped.
They are also hold up frantically calculating bonuses so that they get your “going away present” correct…
Pretty good chance the manager and your whole team is being let go.
The impacted managers should have been invited to training starting yesterday till the end of the week.
This applies to employees outside of Germany, France, and the Netherlands. if your manager hasn't been informed yet, this will mean you are not in an impacted area.
My manager says the same. It seems the board said "cut x%" to upper managers when the actual announcement of layoffs happened, and left it up to them. At least, this is how it feels from where I sit.
