I don't know about anybody else, though.

@1dia+1l4ai3o1 Disney is not really a successful company anymore. They've alienated so much of the audience that they have to rely on venture capital to stay afloat. Those "donations" aren't extra revenue, they're a quid pro quo with the recipients as well as a tax deduction.
Also, Iger didn't return to Disney to cut his own salary. Chapek was pushed out because he was second-guessing the ESG initiatives that are destroying the business, and pulling out of ESG would puts those aforementioned VC investments at risk.
Disney is caught in a doom loop that will continue to cost the company influence and relevance, resulting in an inevitable sell off. If you're still working at or invested in Disney, it would be wise to consider an exit strategy.
So sad. They don't think about the people affected at all. This is the WORST time to do this to the Recruiting team. There are thousands of Recruiters looking for work right now with all the other company layoffs. Way to go Disney!
What I don't understand is why. This is a successful company that is constantly donating money away...maybe the CEO should cut his salary like Apple's CEO did to save jobs! Why not repurpose those affected into new roles!?
Yes, this is confirmed - some US recruiters were laid off today. Not sure about other groups outside of recruiting.
This is in the U.S.
