Boeing aircraft sales in China fell from over 50% in 2019 to less than 10% in 2022. Boeing is now a distant third in China. After C919 is certified expect numbers to go to zero in China.

Pretty low demand for Boeing airplanes in general. Boeing has been selling their airplanes at prices well below which they can manufacture them for several years now so as to appear competitive. But this negative profit issue is now starting to be seen in the Boeing quarterly reports. Airbus has a huge backlog and has not needed follow this failed Boeing business model. And COMAC will soon be selling their airplanes for much lower cost than Boeing...and COMAC will still be able to make a profit doing so.
Interesting take analogy regarding the future……..
“Over 50 years ago, the ice-melting of our relations began with Ping-Pong diplomacy,” Professor Zhu said, echoing a quip that has spread on the Chinese internet. “It was a small ball that started it, and now our relations are in trouble over a big ball or balloon. I never expected this metaphor could happen.”
