Thread regarding Hasbro Inc. layoffs

This has nothing to do with overhiring

Most of the teams are understaffed so how did they ever over hire?

I can attest to this. I've been doing two jobs at once for over a year because we haven't been backfilling positions that desperately need to be backfilled. How is that overhiring? No, this is about incompetent leadership and nothing else. They're the ones who should pay for this, not employees.

Bonuses and raises have been flat but somehow money can be found to bring in CFO from another company of comparable size and double her salary.

Hasbro has understaffed each team and is very unfair to the staff that is remaining. Their methods are “penny wise and pound foolish” laying off talented people to save money when the people are actually needed. the corporate culture here is evil. Look to CEOs at other companies like zoom who cut their own outrageous salaries to safe the talented workers.

Did they close the California Disney office? Or do you think that’s going away as part of the layoffs?

Quiet Hiring: The company fires workers to save money and expects the remaining employees to do the extra work. Although you didn't interview for the new role and responsibilities, to your surprise, the company silently hired you without your permission or additional compensation.
