I retired last April. Took the IBP and LTI at the yearly review and gave notice.
A buddy who stayed behind, hoping for a package at some point, got whacked today. ~25 years. Hopefully the package was enough to retire on without going to court against Dell to get more. It is not so easy to sc--w non-US workers for severance.
Need to “have a Frank and open discussion with your manager”, that’s what a Director told me last layoff pre-pandemic in regards to a person that wanted to retire. They gave them a package.

Heck only reason I check email is to see if I got an unplanned 1x1. Rather have Severance now than retire later in the year as planned. (This is my last year working regardless)
