If you're in the US, how are severance packages "crazy taxed"? They're taxed as income, the same as any other paycheck you get.
Do some of these people think that severance packages should be tax-free or something? Or treated like capital gains? It's income, and treated as such.
I left a month ago, wasn’t going to wait around for some measles package that is crazy taxed. I did the right thing for myself and my family. I got the he-l out of Shitrix.
Still pitiful, after all these years...
Who would even want to work for a company that has the most incompetent ELT ever seen? It’s a joke.
Well I've pretty much done the bare minimum for the last 6 months. So I've gotten to do a lot of personal stuff and get things done around the house. I already have 2 people trying to hire me but did not want to leave 30+ weeks of severance on the table if I was going to be laid off. Now I have an end date, on Tuesday I get lucky and get laid off with a nice severance package, or I do not and quit on Wednesday. Then I take some time off, and do some traveling, before starting my next gig.
Overall not too bad.
How has it been where you are?
Only those with no talent are left. The good ones already secured a better job elsewhere. It’s sad to see this happen.
