Decreasing bureaucracy would make sense if the people left had basic knowledge of systems. As the staff has been critically cut simple repair jobs take days instead of hours. AI cannot replace hands. We should have executed a paced transition plan to execute instead of cutting first and figuring out later. This is proof senior leadership has no clue on how the systems function. They want the people left to come up with a solution and sell AI to support the theme

Verizon’s suite of systems and their architecture is so complex and the thousands upon thousands of processes means nobody exactly knows how it all works! There’s bound to be some damage caused by layoffs driven by ignorance
