Thread regarding Salesforce.com Inc. layoffs

What is the real reason?

I am very disappointed and do not understand the criteria for these layoffs.

Anyone else here who had excellent reviews but was laid off anyway?

If the quality of work and productivity have nothing to do with it, what do you think is the real reason they are letting good people go?

What cuts are coming to Slack?

Quality of work and productivity unfortunately are not sufficient to be safe.

It depends on other factors too. Clearly, the department/area worked on counts a lot (considering where the current cuts are made, Mulesoft, Slack, Tableau), duplication of roles, salary, long term perspective, leadership etc.

The real reason? The end of near "free" money and inflation. No more cash for aquisitions and their customer bases as a substitute for actually selling organically to net new customers and existing.

Real reason is to keep major shareholders happy... as much it can be done. It's business, it's economy, nothing more, nothing less. If someone believes in "family" BS when talking about workplace it is a sign of being delusional...

Random rambling:

Sfdc incorporated activtrak into crm last January. Aka software that tracks how employees are using their time. (unknown to them)

Is it possible they used it to derive those they consider dispensable?
