Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Why do we keep getting rid of experienced employees?

Why is this entire industry so fixated on layoffs as the solution to their problems? Has it ever resulted in anything other than short-term gains? No. And yet we keep doing it. We keep chopping away at our best and brightest when the only group benefiting from this is the upper management who keeps pocketing bonuses or stock options while they continue to lay off people who have been here for years. Truly shameful.

Can't risk spending any $$$ that could be flowing to the CEO or shareholders. And too short sighted to realize that those expensive experienced employees are WHY the CEO and shareholders are making their money.

My manager already agreed to put me on the next layoff list. I'm done, and he knows it.

When a company is in perpetual decline, the informed will gladly take the offer of a good severance package while they can. Why? Over time, as the layoffs continue, the severance value can be reduced (cost-cutting).

People who have been through this process at other companies anticipate what happens next. The timing of the severance reduction is somewhat predictable. That's why you're seeing the remaining experienced employees depart now.

It just shows what a pathetic piece of trash Krause is. He's not fit to run anything.

The reason is that the ELT has no real visibility on what people bring to the table. The bigger the company, the more difficult it is to determine who is pulling their weight and is the true talent in a team. In the absence of a system that truly identifies the strong performers, and as time is of the essence, they go by salaries and assumptions that the older the employee the less flexible, more expensive and "difficult" they will be to manage.
I am looking now to work on a start up or a small company. I work hard, I may as well do it in a smaller org where my work has less chances to get diluted, minimized or directly misappropriated in favour of some as----e's ego.

The ELT is not smart enough to increase the bottom line in other ways, such as making good business decisions that grow the business. So all they have is layoffs. Basically stupidity and incompetence is the reason.

experienced employees == costly employees
When one see employees only by the prism of their costs rather than what they bring to the company (revenue, value), you quickly understand why they are the first target

Guess what! For Customer Success it’s the same a-s wholes as pre acquisition. Yup, same losers in management that got us here.

It’s disgusting. The disregard this ELT (starting with the new CEO) has for employees of the organization is shocking. We are truly nothing but a number at this organization.
