There were some indications that there will be layoffs and this is not unexpected. I am prepared in any case. But I hope the company won't decide to keep those who just move their mouse around all day, and lay off those who actually do all the work......

This is painful, but true. We all knew that this was going to happen based on rumors that we all hear. For high salary, you need to play the politics to keep your easy gig, minimal work with high pay. It has been great ride so far. We can milk this cow for a few more years to buffer for the inflation. You are doing a disservice to your family if you do not do what is best for them. Loyalty lies with you and family and not any company.
You all should move to Dynamics 365.
It’s likely it’s very much based on pay and recency of hire. As someone who’s been hired a year ago and who’s relatively well paid, I expect it can well be me.
