Is anybody safe when they start giving out PIPs like candy, more than obviously not based on performance?

Yes, you’re safe until you are not. Already discussed here million times that your full time job is a 1 year contract now, get this into your head and stop asking stupid questions.

It’s sad. Buddy took a step out assignment. They dropped him. He came back to our organization but was still ranked a second time with the other org. Now we have to let him go even though we are already short personnel in a hard to staff location.

Guy has been with the company 20+ years.

This year plenty of victims outside of the US -> Singapore, Belgium etc. for NSI. Next year the US folks will feel the pain. Update your résumé and warm up the network!!!!
