Was anyone else recently asked to update their “My Career Story”?

My department’s leader recently sent a note to all staff with directions to update our “My Career Story” in the HR portal area. She said the “critical fields” to update were education, external work history, career preferences, and relocation/work preferences.

Seems kind of odd. Anyone else agree?

Last time I was asked to do it I got laid off so didn't help at all.

We were pushed to do that a while back, honestly don't think it's anything other than trying to make the new MyHR platform seem to be the greatest HR platform out there.

@ce This is exactly what I feared. So they used the responses to those questions to determine who was suitable for a reorg? It was odd that they asked about relocation and travel

This happened to me. My director said it was not a big deal then 6 weeks later I was reorged. Please be prepared

@ax or just put AI, GenAI, AI leader, AI governance, AI security, Agentic AI, AI slop expertise, expert in copy/paste techniques, experience in backstabbing, thought leadership and you'll get promoted to Sr. Director.

I received one last month to update my career profile . I never completed it by the due date. Then today I received a Town Hall meeting for 30 minutes.

Don’t do it. Or put vague info, if it’s being required of you. I worked in a group where one team was forced to do this, then they used it to get rid of them. If you choose to do it let it be your choice, not some sketchy mandate.
