Ford's Rank - WSJ - The 2026 Best Companies for the Future

The Wall Street Journal evaluates how leading US corps stack up in 6 areas: AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility.

Ford ranks #165 overall with an Overall Score of 53.7, placing it 2nd out of 4 companies in Automobiles & Components. Its strongest factor is Resilience Rank #105, followed by AI #120, Talent Readiness #148, and Innovation #161. That is a better profile than many legacy industrial companies, but still not a top-tier future-readiness score.

The clear drag is Financial Fitness Rank #419, with Agility also modest at #265. The data suggests Ford has some technology and resilience credibility, but the financial profile is a major constraint. Strategically, the ranking treats Ford as a legacy manufacturer with pockets of modernization, not as a fully transformed mobility or software-led platform.

@c6 Tired of people like you. Opening your mouth with nothing to back it up. Our so called EINSTEIN LEADERSHIP led the company since May of 2017 down a path lost over $20bn+ and climbing on putting all their eggs into EVs. How good did that turn out? Ford is not in the business of making battery storage. WHY? BECAUSE some ja----s decided to dump billions into EVs and not you have idled facilities. Well the BOD and Senior management deserve to be nominated to the prestigious "DARWIN AWARD". Quality has not improved one bit. Ashamed to have to tell people to ignore Ford products.
Ever since Mark Fields was forced out by Billy. The path has been all downhill.

^^^^This is total B.S. They never heard of the Ford+ Plan??? Which as we all know is the total company-wide transformation to shed the legacy products in favor of modern mobility and the profitable services and data that they enable for our future profitability.
