Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

No work/life balance

Since I joined Citrix two years ago for better pay, my life has been turned upside down. I was forced to shift my priorities from family and friends to work. I was spending more time working than with my loved ones, and it was starting to take a toll on my relationships. I realized it was not worth it. I managed to get a job at my old company - luckily I never burned any bridges - and even with the pay cut I took I'm happy. I got my life back and I got my family back. Joining Citrix was my biggest mistake, but I'm among the lucky few who got to correct it. A lot of my former coworkers are stuck and I feel for each and every one of them. I hope this work year treats all of them and you better than the last one.

The attrition was not backfilled so the workload increased for remaining employees.

I have to agree with the last post. Citrix had a pretty laid-back operating environment. You had to know your stuff though, so if you were struggling, it was mostly on you, not the company.

@OP+1kv96d19 Is this even true? I have been working for Citrix for many years and what we could say about the company is that the work/life balance was one of the greatest if not the greatest of all... if you worked more than you were supposed, I doubt it was managements fault but yours...

My biggest mistake was not leaving when I should have done. I will always regret it. These years could have been spent working for competent people and acquiring knowledge on new tech and building healthy relationships with my colleagues, if not friendships. I am a natural learner, a hard worker and an honest individual, yes, very naive as well. The last years here have changed me for the worse and I will need moral and spiritual DECONTAMINATION to go back to the person I was. Can't wait to leave these toxic environment behind.

" Joining Citrix was my biggest mistake" - that quote should be at the top of the employee comments on Glassdoor's website. So true, for so many.
