Why am I struggling to change my LinkedIn profile from Citrix to CSG? It’s like an itch I can’t scratch. I mean, I should do it but I just can’t. It would make me cringe to change it. I’d laugh at my own profile.
Test: you’re at a party and someone asks you “ heh what do you do?” And deep inside your gut is already churning but you look good and feel brave so you say “ oh hey, I work in IT software” and you hope that’s the end of the conversation but then the next question is “sounds exciting ! what software do you sell?”
…….and then your gut is going into (rave) party mode and you say “ er, well I kinda sell software that helps people work remotely and access their apps from any device while protecting their data and ensuring fab latency….and we kind of sell Platform-as-a-service ( Tibco) but we’re kinda “not allowed” to sell that just yet so scrap that but oh yeah, we have XenServer too” And they say
“cool, so do you work remotely?”
And you say
“ well my CEO says I should go to an office but they’re slowly starting to shut down so yes I work remotely “
……..and then they say “wow, what a cool CEO, I bet your customers loooooove him or her and you say “er, well my CEO doesn’t really visit my customers” and they say
“ what? Yeah right, but I suppose you don’t need your CEO to be in front of customers because that’s what YOU DO right?”
And you say “ er… well not really as I’m not allowed to buy my customer a beer without checking with my CEO first” and they say “ oh well, at least the CEO had a great VISION and is a GREAT LEADER and is no doubt going to kick start the New Year with an amazingly POWERFUL message fuelled with “PURPOSE AND MEANING” because that’s what great LEADERS DO” and you say…..
“ er well he’s a bit of a character” because you’re trying to be loyal to Tom and to CSG but you’re blushing as you know that you’re hiding the FATE that is setting in so you say
“ my taxi is waiting, been nice chatting. Don’t give me your number.Bye.”

@1gqh+1ku2Noup ...or failure
The current CSG business model is similar to crafting a Yugo-like automobile from left-over scrape metal that was discarded. You can try to market the finished product as transportation, but who in their right mind would buy that awful car?
The latest CompTIA jobs report says there are still many tech job openings for skilled candidates. With the exception of joining a Big Tech firm that over-hired during the last 24 months, there are lots of opportunities for those who want to leave CSG.
The question remains, however, what's the demand for people who currently work at a Frankenstein company formed from the piece parts of several failed legacy software vendors?
Yes the first 100 days of a CEO are crucial to success!
Starting the new year with A bang for sure. Thousands of people getting laid off! Yup great vision.
90 days without a word from Mr. Transparency says it all. It’s going to be a blood bath.
