Are there more clinics closing in California? I called my local clinic and they said they were not taking new patients.

Torrance and Covina are in the CA WARN report for 7/31. Also 80 in Oxnard for 10/3/26. Not sure why people think these are not layoff related.
Believe me, we are not at capacity in our OCN clinic. I'm sure we will be cancelling encouters after June.
@a7 Optum clinics are provider clinics. UHC is a payer. You should know the difference if you work at Optum.
@OP Some peds providers are consolidating. Not sure how many PCP are going to be let go. I expect more Optum clinics to shut down in 2026. I was lucky and got a transfer.
@a7 Are you saying when Optum clicnic close staff are fired and not laid off? We have lost of Optum clinics in the past year. How is that not layoff related?

Since when does insurance determine whether a. Clinic or a doctor is taking new patients? This is something they decide on their own. Provider groups turn this on and off based on volume, availability etc. We need to discuss layoffs here. Stop trolling lol.
