Office politics are so much worse when you have to navigate them in person. From micromanaging to bullying to being put in the middle of arguments... It drains people in a way that's much, much worse than just hearing about it or dealing with it from a distance. I'd take a pay cut to avoid it.

@ew put his name on here if you’re really about it
Rich of the boomer to tell people to be more creative when all they've got is 20 posts calling people whiners and a lame line about chocolate milk.
@OP I try to keep my headset on all day calls or no calls so I can avoid the constant office drama. Sometimes my manager makes us all go to a conference room for meetings even when most of the team is in another state. Those days are exhausting. At my desk I can work while the managers argue and gossip but in a conference room my time is wasted. Then they act surprised when we miss deadlines.
@jm Sounds like someone has hurt feelings. Take your own advice troll and leave if you don't like it.
I don't care about office politics. RTO su-ks because it gets rid of the work life balance hybrid work allowed. When I WFH I can spend 5 minutes away from my desk to do the household chores that take a few hours (like laundry, putting dinner in the crock pot, moving the sprinkler to water the lawn/flowers)
With RTO, all these things need to be crammed into the few hours before bed once im home from the office. Being able to do these things during the workday only pulls me away from my desk for a few minutes, but gets these hour long chores off the to do list.
Im always stuck in meetings (where the majority of attendees are in different offices around the country)during my in office weeks. And my teammates that are located in my office are also often in meetings most of the day. So it's not like we get to "collaborate" all day. My remote weeks are a little less meeting heavy, so I use that time to really focus on my individual work items that dont require constant meetings.
Troll over here responding to their own posts to pretend someone likes them LOL go take a nap boomer
@gf you hit the nail on the head
the 'everyone gets a trophy' generation has grown up to be adults now and they need a safe place. Hey, this isn't playing soccer without an actual soccer ball anymore, this is real life. Feelings can get hurt. There are actually winners and losers...choose a side. Your whining is sickening.
Not to mention creeps
Much harder to harass people online.
Dude on my team can’t stop staring.
So f’in creepy.
Wish he’d stay home.
Dude, find a job that makes you do remote work.
what is stopping you from??
