Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Delusional HR

Heard something that made me laugh out loud. HR talking about not “buying” technology platforms as we can build everything ourselves via Citi Stylus. Citi Stylus is a good tool but is it to the level of building enterprise level AI platforms? Not a chance. Good luck to us all and dealing with these HR muppets who sit in their glass towers having no idea what’s actually going on. Delusional. Watch the layoffs start as a result of poorly built internal AI tools to only go on a hiring spree to try figure out how to fix it. Incompetence at its finest.

Citi Stylus is a wrapper that sits atop of LLMs like Claude and Gemini, it’s not an in-house AI tool in of itself.

Let them fire all people and keep only Indian H1B managers and H1B L1 EAD employees.
Let the Americans suffer!

Well combine a tech org that no longer has any real talent and just PowerPoint slide pushers with an era where everyone thinks they know tech strategy because they heard about AI on the news...

Given that the large majority of people in HR are abjectly useless the fact that an AI tool is replacing them may be a step up.

At 388 we beclown (my word, enjoy it) ourselves trying to justify this huge AI investment at the product & client facing level. Zero output I would put in front of an 4/5ths intelligent manager or 1/2 d-mb (paying) 3rd party. Makes sense for Risk, Compliance, HR would use it first. Looks great on paper and we already have poor expectations.

@b2 not really, I was on the call also and wonder who posted this. We spoke about a new hr system and the gist is that hr can do it using stylus and don’t need the expenditure. What can go wrong.
