Are your managers encouraging or discouraging taking your half day Summer Fridays? With all the layoffs, I have more work than I can handle as it is.

@m7 Sounds like you should be more upset with management for not staffing appropriately. But by all means, give up all your free time for a company that will drop you the second it benefits them if thats what you want.
@bj I am in Engineering and always worked. We did not have enough resources on my team so I almost always worked Fridays and into the weekends. Some teams are actually dedicated and make their deadlines. Cannot say that for all teams.
Many who worked on summer friday, got used to work with limited resource. They train you each summer for the upcoming fall restructuring. Smart.
Summer Fridays, were the worst. Always seemed like everyone but support and services and some consultants were off at 9:30 AM.
