There haven't been 7 Global Tech level hackathons..
And yes, they have rights on IP developed working in corporte time on corporate resources.. it's not new or different, same everywhere in industry
If you do the same in private time, best wishes and you should set up a business!
OP you need to elaborate, you are talking to Walmart ex employees here. Most of them think hacking means you have something in your throat you need to get out.
