Regulators and legislators onto UP and their deceiving ways. All of us in the field knew that PSR would not work, it was and never will be a sustainable strategy to run a railroad. A money grab now blowing up in their faces. It’s about time someone held the big bad Union Pacific accountable. Longer trains = dangerous, extra delays, upset communities. Layoffs = train delays unable to move trains repair trains protect trains (LA). Remove conductors = unsafe dangerous money grab won’t work

Trouble is, nobody cares and the STB isn’t going to do anything about it. The class 1 railroads are so large and have so much influence over politicians that no significant action against them will ever take place. The CEO will blame it on weather, crew shortages or something else and in a week or two it will be forgotten.

Up didn’t have enough crew rested or working engines to get a train delivered there sometimes. Winter weather delayed trains too. Up had empty unit trains needing picked up , Up was billing Foster Farms for those empty trains sitting on farm property. No it is not old news, Winter weather is part of the problem. Google Foster farms , the story is all over internet.
