TriMet Plans Layoffs, Budget Cuts Due to Deficit

TriMet announced upcoming layoffs and budget cuts. The revised budget reduces spending by $64.5 million for fiscal year 2027. This includes approximately 170 layoffs of both union and non-union workers. The agency's deficit is growing faster than it can be reduced. TriMet currently faces a $224 million shortfall.
