Not sure how everyone is responding to the changes over the past year and some change. Seen a lot of people move on and out the company, rightfully so. I have been showing up and leaving when I feel like it. Granted my mgr understands my beef and is cool with it, if I show up at 9/9:15 and wanna leave at lunch or 3:30 to finish my day at home, I do that. I suggest you start taking power back in some form for yourself. Whatever that looks like for you, do it. I refuse to look back one day knowing there was more I could do to empower myself in my role and regret it because I was fearful or just doing what I was told, even though it made no sense. For those still showing up daily on site in sales for a 90% virtual role, ask yourself why you're still playing by the rules and not questioning things or creating your own environment for success. Your manager feels it too, but they're not gonna speak out. You have to do it for yourself. If you understand your latitude and have positive rapport with your peers and leader, suggest you create the workflow for your success rather than abiding by this cookie cutter nonsense. Respect to those who don't want to risk their livelihoods because times aren't great. But I encourage those who're disgruntled about the current work environment to take some power back and do whatever you want to do to meet the targets rather than what incompetent leaders try to mandate.

I come in late, leave early, and do whatever the fu-k I want. I hate this place.
I keep my head down and do my job. I have no respect for my SVPs as it is in ISG nor AL. I never present to them anymore and I told my SVP that I’m not doing it until we get some solid leadership in place. This rise has to do with the layoffs and the story that the conman MD is selling. Plus MD has become a political pawn at this point and kisses Trumps a$$. There is nothing behind Dell. We just polish rocks and tell stories. This will catch up. So sell your stock now. In a year it will be worthless.
@a9 I’ve seen people who work super hard and have contributed massively to orgs success and bottom line get laid off (and it wasn’t voluntary). Stop taking things seriously, stop caring and going the extra mile. Do what they ask and not one thing more, don’t offer solutions to improve whatever it is you work on. Don’t work over 40. If you do, take that extra time off without entering your time. Instead of leaning in, lean back. Relax, take all your vacation, pto, never work overtime, including taking emails, texts, calls outside normal working hours.
I think it 10000% depends on your ORG and if your managers are actually in YOUR office. For me, my manager(s) live on another continent and we will literally never meet face to face. While I'm "expected" to go in 5 days/week, badge swipes is what matters.
Generally speaking, I get to the office at 10-10:30am and leave around 12pm. Been doing that for the last year and have never had anyone say anything. My lead literally sits next to me and does the same.
Until/unless they start tracking time spent IN office, just badge swipe or go in for an hour and go back home lol
wonderful holiday vent
Feeling stuck with no way out. Per my Oura ring, my stress levels are insanely high for 6 hrs a day. No help in sight, and didn’t get paid today because of the new stupid ODW. #SOS
@a3 Isn't that what I typed? Lol bollocks would imply you think I'm fluffing here. I'm not in the slightest. Worked from home 2 days just this week and have been doing it the past 3 quarters. Idk what else to tell ya. I guess just keep being a good old boy and have your butt in that seat 8 hours a day and let us know where that gets ya.
@OP love this post!! Full agreement STOP GIVING YOUR POWER AWAY! just because you agreed to do a job ....doesn't mean you have to dance like a puppet. Stop being sheeple.
Riiiiiiiight.
Your boss is cool with you coming in late and leaving early. What a bunch of bollocks.
You encourage people to take power back? LMAO
I needed a good laugh today.
