Weird to layoff people before the long weekend, that too on a Thursday. Usually layoffs are scheduled for paycheck day. Heard there were more than 100 people laid off today

@aq
True that. Dirs and VP were involved in determining who goes atleast this time.
Kept key folks to run the biz plus any close friends (friends of VP/Dir ofcourse) That was super evident.
Not saying this bitterly. That’s the nature of business. Number and headcount game. No one cares. It’s either the dir themselves or pawns to get to the number.
Weird that business side is still super bulky. Mostly this was tech layoff.
High stress scenario all of 2026 and several VP/Dir random huddle. The list was ready a few weeks back and chopping board list folks were not involved in next steps work on purpose. Most that were let go were high performers, just not immensely valuable at the current time /most orchestrators.
So for next time watch those signals.
Actually relieved and the break is good for those who can afford it after years of toil and effort.
This time was around 5%. Next one in about 3 months. Thought the goal was 15%.
Package info was sent last night to roughly 300 ppl…details which we are expected to keep to ourselves for any breach.
I did and was tops in department as were others that were. Not even upset, good luck going forward to think anyone in this company cares, they never did. If you want to work upset go for it, your going to be miserable for awhile and wish you got laid off.
@a6 why not just do it in one shot at that point though
I heard rumors of another round of layoff tomorrow. The people affected today have no information about their benefits/severance yet so maybe they are waiting until tomorrow for the next batch of people to know before sending out those info? Who knows.
@OP Have you not been at the company long? The last several big cuts were not on a payday or even a Friday. Also, 300ish not 100...
