Laggards are moved to "non-core" assets (anything not permian) and put in a holding pattern until they can be managed-out or the asset is 86'd. If you're not permian, you're expendable.

Dvn keeps everyone on initially, then lets the machine do its thing and identify the high performers and thought leaders to cut, thereby saving the face of the entrenched underperformers.

Your best bet is just to smile and nod and go along with that we say so you don’t become a threat to the establishment.
