Thread regarding ALDI layoffs

They should have let us volunteer

I wouldn't have minded taking a severance package. Could have saved one of my teammates who I know couldn't afford to lose his job, and he did. I'll never understand why a voluntary round isn't always offered before an involuntary one. Wouldn't that be a win/win?

@ab over 1000 employees are getting laid off and their jobs are being outsourced to a cheap vendor in India. Terminations start in July, I believe? But people can volunteer to leave now and get a bigger severance package. If you search Aldi DX on Reddit, there’s a few posts from employees talking about it.

Agreed! Especially since they’re doing exactly that in Germany with the AldiDX downsizing.

That would require leadership to be candid and transparent, you know, the things they put in the AMS as being important. So of course they wont do that.
