@ag it was good advice at the time.
I was on public transpo. one time, first thing in the morning on my way into the office, where a few of these tech bros were being really loud and obnoxious, yukking it up amongst themselves with their fake laughs. Finally I'd had enough and said, "Dork Patrol, give it a rest."
One guy with his badge all proudly displayed on a lanyard around his neck told me to STFU. I responded with, "Somehow, having a pipsqueak who isn't discreet enough about his own personal privacy, to be lamely wearing his work badge on the outside of his jacket while riding a bus, looking like he's a 2nd grader on a field trip with his name tag, isn't really much to be concerned with."
He actually said back to me, "Yeah I have a BIG BOY JOB! They gave me a badge!"
I said, "I have one too, I just don't wear it for all the world to see my full name, place of work, and ugly mug" on display. Being subjected to looking at your face is enough punishment, we don't need to have to see it twice."
His friends laughed at him, as I exited at the stop.
They ruined our city.
And now AI is ruining them.
Schadenfreude is so sweet.
Smug techies told blue collar drillers & miners to learn how to code. Now it's your turn. Learn how to unclog a toilet. Maybe how to wire a subpanel.
