Does HR prohibit hiring of IP rated profiles or is it upto discretion of the hiring manager to give the interview.

HR doesn't prohibit a promotion with an IP rating. I moved from grade 2 to 5 with IP most recent rating. I was on the way to a better rating.

I would imagine in many situations things would be different for the rep in another role. If the role is a terrible fit, their boss is unfair, etc. it su-ks if you cannot get into another role because of one su-king the life out of you.

Didnt they habd out a lot if IPs last year for attendance? Why would IP affect hiring decisions this year since they aren't really performance based.

I pass on interviewing current IP rated candidates. I cannot see prior years but would pass on any IP in last 3 years if I could. Mediocre folks bring down a whole team.

As a former manager, I can assure you that my boss would question my sanity/capability if I did that.

Why would a hiring manager want to interview someone with IP rating to begin with?
