Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Layoff Rumors for this week

Heard a rumor that there will be layoffs this Friday, and we’ll be asked to WFH that day. I didn’t put a whole ton of stock into it, but I was sent a photo of all of the CX and MX leadership going into a 2.5hr meeting today and it was set up by the HR generalist. Safe to say I’m officially anxious and not feeling good. My source is as an associate and a leader in the a space at BTD.

Anyone else heard anything concrete?

@b1 it almost seems like they will be ranking associates to make it easier to pick who gets laid off

Considering the blind racists across all levels in the company targeting anyone who doesn't look like the vast majority of the company, have fun on Fri.

@b2 assuming we have jobs, I wonder if there will be a merit increase…..or will they consider spending 5 days a week in office our increase lol

@b4 That was already on the calendar, at least for me anyway. When it showed up again today, it felt like an agenda update.

Thought it was odd that the landing the planes meeting was scheduled this week, just yesterday. Those are typically a couple of weeks out

@b1 pretty sure these happen annually. These things work hand in hand with employee calibrations, annual reviews, and any merit increases on an annual basis. This doesn't seem out of the ordinary, but standard processes. I'm not saying they won't use the results of the talent review as the basis for cuts, but nobody I knew was caught off guard by talent reviews happening.

@b0 whats the purpose of those talent reviews? Layoffs or something else?

Aren't they currently going through talent reviews last week and this week? Pretty sure those reviews are with leaders and the meetings are like 2.5 hrs. I've got to assume there is someone from HR in those meetings.

We had a cx all hands today and things seemed normal with leadership presence so it will be very strange if its this friday. Also, while meeting might be for layoffs i dont think these things get called out to cx leadership 3 days in advance. They will be part of it long term planning so it might not be this friday but sometime soon. Just my thoughts and I can be wrong.
