I have a theory that Nvidia is going to buy out NetApp.

Nvidia likely won’t get regulatory approval. So they won’t be buying any storage companies right not
So like why didn't you post the theory and what it's based on?
@cv
If Nvidia was going to buy anyone it would be Vast Data. Vast fits into AI architectures, doubly so with model creations, much better than AFX. AFX performance is trash and I feel comfortable saying that because Vast performance is borderline trash, especially when compared to what you get in HPC with things like Lustre. The only people I could see wanting to buy NetApp are a hyperscaler because buyout is easier then development or HPE, because they still don't know what they're doing in storage. The out out out outlier I potentially see is Lenovo, but I doubt it has the appetite or wallet.
NVIDIA partners with anyone, they are not tied to an OEM but they are no longer just a chip company and moving up the stack to own the entire AI infra layer. netApp provides the data movement plus storage layer and with 40,000 ONTAP customers helps Nvidia accelerate this move because whoever controls the data path controls AI performance and cost.
@a6 Yep. There is a video of Jensen signing a rack of DELL gear going around on social media. WTF is GK?
Nvidia just celebrated a deal with Dell today.
Smoking good stuff, ha!
Wake up, you are dreaming.
Based on what?
why?
