Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

LT Announcements

Many of the holes are being now plugged with today’s org announcements. AD to the Chief of staff office. That pretty much confirms CH can stop dual hat and will be head of downstream.

Yet to be seen if Meg has the fortitude to send GB and WL packing. Or at the very least move GB over to some Tech center role where he can’t continue destroying value.

What does the Chief of Staff role do? Is it a glorified assistant. This would have been a great opportunity for MO to streamline and cut leadership roles but she is just shifting people at the top.

Will Starlee bedazzle us with a 3rd act? She was perfect in the early 00’s as the cute yet razor sharp and (super artificially promoted) example of a corporate engineer…then she transitioned into a bitter looking and masculine manager. Meg will either love her or despise her…rumors that she is being poached by a smaller company. Recruiting company doing a terrible job with discretion…

Does MO support the bp matrilineal movement? Can we assert that her time as CEO will be long or short? So far it’s promote internal popular interest without welcoming outside change agents. I know that some will think she plays 6D chess but, here administration is now past the honeymoon phase…time for bullocking…

@ef an environment where there is sanctioned hostility towards any group is a terrible and unacceptable thing. We are in 2026 so the FAFO spirit is now taking note…how this manifests itself will be interesting…

If you’re a cis-male at bp your career is on ice. If you’re as capable as a woman, you will lose the tie. You are not getting the promotion, raise, etc. Honestly, it’s about time. Men have been in control for way too long. Deal with it. It isn’t going to change.

Does bp have an initiative to marginalize white males over 40? Has KD instituted any policies to displace the pale, stale, males? Asking from a. Cultural perspective?

LJ is named SVP of Wells. She made such a mess out of Finance and Procurement. We spend hundreds of millions on wells and they make her SVP? Wasn't she one of BL's favorites

KD has lots of compromising information on departed executives and current management. Will she be permitted to hold this leverage? Basically the toxic well phenomenon…Fresh start before 6/26 bp needs new culture and leadership. She culled staff based on race, gender, age and alignment witch would make for devastating class action lawsuits…jettison now

@a5 After all, she's got the hair for it!! LOL. Can't figure out how she got as far as she has, and how she has managed to stay there.
