Thread regarding 3M layoffs

These days I have a simple rule

I do good work for me. Not for the company. They don’t care whether I try or not. There is no reward coming my way. Odds are I will be let go eventually and nobody in management will lose any sleep over it. But I also know myself. If I spent eight to ten hours a day just skating by, working only for a paycheck, I would lose my mind. So I do the job well because I have to live with myself afterward. What I cannot figure out is how some people coast so easily. That would drive me insane.

Speak their language and dump the stock. In bars, people associated Post-It notes and Duct tape. Then in bars, they associated THe Devil we Know. They don’t care about people, society or workers until they are forced to care

Do your job and everything in life the right way. Your job doesn’t define you, your attitude does. 3M can’t take that from you unless you let it.

Do your job well while looking for another one.

Its sad but that really is the way that place is anymore. More and more work, amd tons of vague promises from management. Soon as I hit my numbers I'll be long gone.
