Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

All bp VP hired by BL and MA are still gainfully employed?

Time to clean the rot and remove these parasites now. bp deserves new people (internal and external) to ascend and take bp to a new level. Meg will not have the luxury of time…similar to Woodside there are cracks in the edifice and challenges midterm…cheerleading because trading got a massive gain while the average gains by trading the last 20 years is a paltry 4% ROC

You come to work giving it your all. Realizing that due to market forces and company initiatives and performance your job security is tenuous in challenging times. Yet Culture, People, and Communication can maintain their privileged positions while simultaneously maintaining and condoning unacceptable behavior and ethical lapses of their top leaders. All the while this duplicitous behavior is couched as inclusive incompetence.

Will BP have the courage to clean up a toxic department?

@1cn because HR or P&C is just an administrative pencil pushing function that only does real work during layoffs. And we’ve had a lot of layoffs.

UK employment law is preferential to those at the top? It was easy to displace those loyal hard working technicians and craft workers…If UK is so challenging BP should divest and decommission asap…

@a5 UK Employment Tribunals give out substantial payouts in the most comical, woke cases. The LT have individually the money to finance the best employment lawyers, or else they would have to be given large payoffs. IMHO anyone appointed by BL is by definition a turkey and should be shown the door. That man's tenure is going to have a knock on effect on this company for some time to come.

So bp UK EVP and SVP are sacred cows that can not be fired as simply as the thousands BP jettisoned into the garbage heap?…in the many initiatives.
The collective wisdom has nominated KD as the first VP to be jettisoned. Her woke ideology has weakened and discouraged Exxon level risk taking, ownership, and accountability.

Perfectly said…Elliot Management your ears are ringing …time to show you strength and determination to make bp great…It’s clear bp needs a change in domicile. bp production growth is primarily America’s based….time to divest the dead wood 🪵 and simplify…

@OP Yes, agree with you entirely. However, the thing in the UK is that these mo--ns would have to receive a huge severance pay or, in the UK at least, they would take the company to an Employment Tribunal and claim unfair dismissal. Everyone in BL and MA's LT should be gone. The one thing that Meg has got going for her is that she is an external hire, and therefore won't have any loyalty to these losers. I haven't read anywhere about GC having been hired by any company. Elliot Investment Management sorted her out. Maybe it will take intervention again from Elliott to get rid of the remaining dross.
