A commenter said: “leadership needs to be realistic about the culture issue. There are people on both sides who clearly don’t even want to be here anymore. Fine — give those people strong packages and let them move on. That is not the reality at VZ. It was demomstrated that VZ is a cliquish club. They downsize those who they dont like. They dis not care about performance.

It’s really pathetic, the coffee sipper blurps on AI and has NO clue on execution ! His whole purpose for being hired is to cut down to <25K or less employees, stock price goes up and he makes quota ! Making billions !! Then sell to PayPal Boys Club !
WAKE UP ! If you cannot connect the dots !
@bp You ask why would they give a package. Are you aware there was just a 4 year contract extension, with the no layoff clause still intact for the senior craft? So the answer to your question is - to save themselves from paying out another four years salary times thousands of employees. If no package is coming I'll take another half million from the company, along with four years of company 401k contributions & growth, medical insurance, etc...
Verizon leadership has zero concern about the culture. Everything is focused on reducing OpEx. The days of feeling like (it was never true) you are valued, are over. Culture isn't going to help shed $5B of OpEx. Any cultural influence to that target would take to long so there is no focus on that. Go to work, wonder if you are going to lose your job, go home/log out.
Why would any co must give a package to employees to leave?.... Layoff is the norm....unless you are union where the terms are in ink...
