we got an invite for a group call with the director. half of my team (90/200) is in the call. we are all lower grades and hr is also there. i thought they would at least have the decency of firing us 1:1 and not in a group call. has anyone else had a group call scheduled or only 1:1?

If HR is in the meeting, you are cooked
Just saw the news and I feel for y’all. I got laid off last year by Chevron who moved their corp hq from CA to TX. Of course, technical staff were excluded from that move. Their jobs were all moved to Bengaluru. I have sincere hatred for executives, activist investors (aka all institutional investors), tech bros, and this administration
@a9 Yup, the transition to Bangalore + Eastern European contractors continues
I'm gone as of tomorrow, but I expect almost everyone I've met at Cisco will be gone within two years
Possible that your manager and large part of your group impacted , if your manager is not on the invite - hope that is wrong
Fu-k this company. Looking back Im glad this pos company laid me off. All they do is replace Americans with Another Indian (AI). Happily working for an AMERICAN company now with more pay and benefits.
The group calls to fire people are BS,unless it says it is mandatory. People may or may not attend and they can not say they notified you.
Why do you want the 1:1? Why even a group call? I'd actually prefer just an email.
200 people in your team and you have a director? That’s not Cisco LMAO
Better than 6:00 AM email that was sent to those getting fired by Oracle.
Which team are you in?
Think of how long it would take to notify 90 people individually. They would never get it done in one day. Sounds like your team is heavily impacted. Best of luck.
Which team are you in?
@OP At least mention the BU…
