Spirit Airlines' departure from Arnold Palmer Regional Airport resulted in 26 layoffs. Two additional employees also experienced reduced work hours. The Westmoreland County Airport Authority is in talks with four to five potential new carriers. One unnamed commercial airline has provided a letter of commitment. The airport anticipates several months before a new airline begins service.
