New re-org will be in place January 2027. People will know their status in September, typically given 3 months notice. Those in the bottom 10% last year need to be prepared emotionally to be let go. Make the decision whether to start looking for another job now before the mass layoff hits and you are in competition with others or wait around for a package and try your luck. I know 2 engineers that quit these past month and they found jobs with better pay and better benefits. They were smart and started looking before the shoe drops.

Meg will need to retire and displace a whole subculture of bp if she is to create genuine progress and profitability. Don’t let the fact that trading and high oil prices have resulted in unexpected financial gains…The rot has outplayed, outwitted, and outlasted…Meg will require surgical intervention to remove these parasites…nothing so far…KD is still manifesting woke ideology from an era that does not exist anymore…Culture matters…

@ag not sure about that.. she left the shareholders a lot worse off and the company with a larger capex issue, relating to an lng plant.. that they so far can neither farm down nor pre sell lng from...

@ae eh, do some research. JB lied to the board and to the courts, Hayward caused the largest natural disaster ever, looney had a god complex and broke almost every ethical norm as a ceo, MA was also mixing it in the company pool. These people were not discarded. They were unfit.

I am glad that we got Meg. Trim down bp and merge/ acquire Woodside/ LLOG/ Beacon/ Murphy. Any smaller corporation with enough gas reserves and LNG plants with higher PE multiples than bp would make a bold statement! We should get back to the division of labor principle, not adding cheap labor but not adding any at all. Unless you are key to production, cannot rely on the service company or minimizing risk, you should not have a job.

She didn’t walk out of Woodside, She left a company she’d already reshaped, re‑scaled and re‑energised. bp On the other hand, has spent the last decade hosting a circus of short‑term CEOs, each one arriving with a new slogan and leaving before the paint dried.

That era ends the moment Meg walks through the door.

BP doesn’t need another “vision.” It needs an adult in the room. Someone who can say no, cut the noise, and stop the strategic mood swings that have turned the company into a case study in self inflicted confusion.

Meg will be remembered for three things and none of them are optional:

Ki-ling the clutter. Layers, pet projects, vanity ventures, and legacy assets that have survived purely through internal politics, all of that is on borrowed time.

Dragging bp back to reality. Investors don’t want slogans, they want returns.
No more CEOs who talk big, pivot twice, and vanish. Her legacy will be consistency, discipline, and a strategy that doesn’t change with the weather.

Legacy doesn’t start later.
It starts the moment with the first sacred cow leaves.

How many CEOs has bp discarded like trash? What’s the average tenure as a CEO at bp? Meg will have to pivot a company who’s existence is about heavy process and inactivity or resistance to change…bp has too many decisions and too much complexity Meg needs to reduce footprint soon before the caustic parasites compromise her direction…she keeping the old guard? bp in the USA alone could reduce staff by 3000 and they wouldn’t even notice
