@1bh Using AI as an excuse will burn the those who decide who should be let go. They are the ones that can be easily replaced with AI without affecting the performance of the company.

@OP So far the pretext for layoffs has been redundancies, product optimization due to merger, They haven't started the layoffs with the pretext of AI productivity gains,
I think sooner or later they'll announce layoffs attirbuted to AI.

@ec Rumors that are circulating in HQ say the next round of layoffs will be in mid-June.

From the Ansys side, does anyone foresee a lot of employees being marked for another round of layoffs when and if this post-merger activities are complete?

I have a sneak feeling looking at SNPS org structure, you see a lot of contractors as direct reports with one senior level person so when all the grunt work is done ( if it ever completes ), those individuals are no longer needed including the redundant managers.

When Ansys is integrated into Synopsys, won’t all the current managers at Ansys become redundant?
There’s still work to be done in terms of layoffs, right? Especially in marketing and back-office departments.

@OP You don’t need “news” to figure this out. Management’s silence is basically a neon sign. If more cuts weren’t coming, they’d be tripping over themselves to shout it from the rooftops and stop morale from free‑falling. But sure, let’s all pretend everything’s fine while they quietly decide which of us gets tossed on the bonfire to help pay off that cute little $35B tab.
