Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Here is to find real number

@bc There is a docu-sign package with multiple pdfs where associate who is impacted have to sign. This is an agreement terms and conditions to get the severance pay and benefits. Like I will keep things confidential, I won't go to media, court etc etc.

Unless associate electronically sign the agreement they wont get severance benefits ( like 6 months of pay, 401k vesting, prorated bonus etc. )

This docu-sign pdfs has one file which they have to give list of people ( not names or a#, but title, role, level etc. ) who were part of RIF and their ages. It is a legal document to comply with the law that firm did not do layoff of people due to their age, this is becase of equal opportunity employer law. That list is the only real place you can find number of associates impacted.

@n1
Within this decisional unit, just under 50% were under 40. So the RIF is heavily tilted towards 40 and above. I do not want to share the raw data at this point for obvious reasons

@de ok....but what proportion is the unit by age?

If 70% age 40 or over RIF'd, is it because ~70% of the unit was age 40 or over?

Seeing the breakdown of RIF'd doesn't help without knowing the original makeup

@dt I have the raw job code & age data, those percentages are accurate

@de the data is murky, the 56% could all be in the 70%, you would expect the majority of VP/Directors would be 40+

  • I mean I know it’s Fido and a teenager may become a VP since they set up an EVPs son’s XBox.

Or do they not double count?

In one particular decision unit: over 8% received RIF

Of those receiving the RIF:
Over 70% were 40s or older
Over 56% were VPs or Directors

Keep in mind the list each person see is a little fragment of a we-don't-know-how chopped up of the big picture. There might be overlaps among those fragments, you don't know how to roll up... there is no way to reverse engineering the full list

If anybody has that doc, put it into any AI chatbot and ask to analyze/summarize counts. There is no private data there so this is OK.
