I thank Cengage for helping me to become my own CEO. It is empowering and has been a disruptive experience.

Thanking the company that laid you off is a LinkedIn trend I’ve noticed over the past couple years and isn’t specific to Cengage. It’s also completely unnecessary and, if anything, reeks of obsequiousness. I empathize with everyone let go and understand the urge to do this if you think it will give you a leg up but it’s so generic and meaningless at this point. Let your accomplishments speak for themselves. There’s no need to thank someone for spitting in your face.
I sleep well now and I chuckle at the sycophants who were "promoted" to sleepless nights in this dead company. How long will these clowns last? Sweet Dreams!
@c1 I just announced my new gig; no thanking or mention of the hacks at Cengage. They got their money’s worth out of me and then some, so no kissing a**.
The last 1.5 to 2 years have been miserable professionally, so no than yous to a cr-ppy company.
@bz I think that makes sense. Most people want to get a new job ASAP and want to give the impression that they're leaving on good terms. This is less about Cengage and more about future employment. If you badmouth your previous employer, you may seem unhirable.
This is more of a note to future employers than really thanking Cengage. I doubt they post what they REALLY want to post.
Right on! Dignity is a good thing. I will attack Cengage at every turn and do not recommend any Cengage products in my new gig.
