G6,5,4 - majority are youngsters getting laid off. Runway if you are young this is a company for dinosaurs

This message is wrong, unhelpful, and unnecessary. Plenty of older associates have been impacted.
This is my 6th one of these in my career. HR is usually in charge of these things. They run the list through a formula that ensures they can’t be seen as discriminating against any particular group and get sued. The managers here are usually told who is getting let go without any input to the decision.
Too much DEI and Covid hiring caught up with the firm. People are paying the price now. Sad
