Scrum Master at Fidelity Merrimack, NH, heard rumors today of layoffs tomorrow, 5/7/2026. 30 minutes ago, received an unscheduled meeting with their Mgr at 8 am tomorrow. Believes they are being laid off, despite excellent performance. 1/1/2027 would be their 2nd anniversary.

@cm They were laid off. 6 months severance, pro rated bonus, 3 months of job search placement help. Sounded like all Scrum Masters are being laid off as well.

Performance has nothing to do with this - this is 100% organizational realignment away from the Spotify or Agile Operational Construct. It is not limited to Scrum Masters - and agile isn’t the target either - Squad Leaders, Product Area Leaders, Group Squad Leaders, Analysts, Developers, Business “folks”, and managers will be part of this.
