- the best opportunities come when you aren’t expecting/looking for them.
- always have a mind set of “what’s the next best role/job for me”.
- always be working toward the next thing.
- there are always jobs available at companies, just not when it’s convenient to you.
- make friends in life not enemies.
- you never know who you will cross paths with in life.
- always be showing your “brand” around others. Your personality and work ethic will always be remembered.

What bothers me is how everyone seems to drop everything for the company so that someone who doesn't is not viewed favorably. People need to just say no but they don't. They continue working weekends and all hours. Shouldn't be this way but it is.
Find something you love doing that can be turned into a revenue generator. Let the time left with VZ fund that something, and scale it up. This BS culture isn't just here, it's everywhere. With the 5-9 running the stress of this place is so much less. If and when your time comes, you ramp up and feel very little aside from an immediate loss of stress. Your mental health is more important than filling some C Suite a-holes pockets.
Why isnt that EVERYONE has this mindset? Or is it just from us oldies that have lived long enough to see life for what it is
