What are the odds they will clear whole team from small offices internationally? They’ve done it to some lone rangers but what about other teams?

@1jm back water outposts. B itch please I’ve been to Baltimore
@1jq the only affront is Trump grabbing women by the pus
@1h6 you are part of the reason the firm is wasting money. Bragging about how you took time off while getting paid is an affront to the hard working associates who pay your salary.
Name calling might be cool in your shithole country, it is not good here.
@1h6 Your coworkers seem to disagree.
- Internet bragging is pretty sad.
2, argument by unprovable facts sadder - This post alone, proves it’s time to close shop in those sleepy back water outposts.
@1cy No scam here. Have worked hard, earned for the company more than it has paid me and merely expressed my gratitude for the US business and its generosity in paying me. I am not going anywhere. If you cry like a little baby at somehting you don't like, perhaps you should leave this forum?
@1cr this is a layoff board. People come here fearing for their job and livelihood.
You’re gloating over how you scammed the company into paying more than your sorry a$s is worth? Shame on you. Please leave
@qk Great thing is that the US business pays those OUS very handsomely. Thanks Uncle Sam...I don't need to work again. It has been such a great ride.
@nd lol jokes on you - two promotions in only a few years, finished off study while working and worked from home for most of time at TRP while barely working - don’t hate the player, hate the game
What's the point of debating which country is "better"? That's such a short-sighted way to think. It's an American company at the end of the day — the U.S. holds the power, and a lot of the responsibility should rest with the U.S. too. Hiring authority is mostly held by the U.S. side anyway, isn't it?
@nw I’d argue Asia is more successful than EMEA. UK investment team is okay with a few standouts. UK sales team is mediocre at best. Asia (ex Australia) is a step up.
Here too, blaming other countries and picking fights. Truly a country where Trump is president. They put their own issues aside and condemn others. In the end, they drop bombs. What a foolish country
@n9 London is a big international hub, so yes there are likely some top talent especially in Investments. Agree as well that Distribution team there is a joke. How much money can you throw at a growth plan over a long, long time and not get results.
Australia is worse. Growth market BS got quietly shelved. They folded their local equity fund and only sell global funds. I say sell but that’s a stretch. Distribution there is just as laughable as the team in the UK.
International is a joke. Other than London there are no serious offices anywhere. Nobody knows the company in Asia.
@nj feel free to work for a non-US company then?
I'm working at a company in such a stupid, war-mongering country — why do I have to be accused of being lazy?
@n9 Add all the holidays up and larger amounts of leave, higher pay, all while never coming to the office. Yeah, taking advantage is one word. Bet they have other jobs.
@n4 Australia isn’t great but some of the EMEA offices make them look like deep knowledge experts.
London also has a lot of poor performers but there are some key associates who are very knowledgeable and hardworking (not in Distribution or RFP though, which are a mess).
Essentially, most satellite offices lack knowledge and training and rely often on expertise from US employees as a safety net to cover up mistakes or mismanagement. But we can’t talk about that because then we just sound petty. I try to have some understanding because it is just more likely for there to be firm culture and knowledge loss the farther away a satellite office is from headquarters/main offices. But it does feel sometimes like we in the US are being taken advantage of, whether consciously or not.
@my How about the UK? God knows how much cash and resources the company has put into that money pit. Where’s the flows?
@m8 Australia seems like a basket case. The quality has arguably become worse and worse.
@m8 because they are among the worst offenders, TBH, who demonstrate an almost willful lack of knowledge—you seriously have to try hard to have zero institutional knowledge while having worked at the company for at least several years. It’s kind of impressive, actually.
@c5 why are you picking on the Germans? Surely there are other lazier offices out there.
@g9 So do I and I know you are talking sh--e.
@dj I absolutely do because I have regular interactions with these offices and the people in them. It is a joke to them that they are taking down big salaries and barely doing anything.
@e6 did they do anything with the data? I feel everyone overseas comes to our office remarks that our kitchen is well stocked…. And yes we have booze. I hope it doesn’t change
To be fair they audited all the non U.S. offices, print usage, office utilization, pantry usage. When you have months of inactivity, last print was 2021 etc, occupancy every few weeks, crates of Starbucks, fridges jammed full of almond milk…
When some other company tends your till. Your best interest take a back seat.
Any corporate acronyms come to mind?
@c5 You have no idea what you are talking about. Id--t.
I mean they probably should! Why do we have an office in Germany? Our German business is miniscule and the people who “work” in that office do next to nothing and regularly demonstrate they have no familiarity with our organization or products, nor do they care to.
