Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Return to Office means exactly that. RETURN

I see people bragging that they badge in, have a coffee and leave. That is not return to office and is in violation.

If you want to work remote, that is your choice but work remote with a different company. I go in at least 3 days, some weeks I go in all 5 days.

@aj

And any of this directly effects you? Who cares where others choose to work? That's between them and their immediate leadership, not you.

Unless you are that disenchanted with your same few fa-t-sniffing opportunities, as you linger endlessly in the restroom yearning for a little variety.

I work in the Brookhaven office. T&O Has a big presence in Atlanta. I see people all the time coming in for 5 minutes and leaving. Do your job and come to the office as required by Arvind or find another job . You are not forced to stay with IBM but if you are employed , at least come in 3 days a week. Quit using traffic as an excuse. Where is the accountability?

Np Bob tracks your badge logs. You'll be hallucinated out of a job.

@OP

Did it ever occur to you that people are doing that to keep clear of you? I can tell by just one post that you aren't very pleasant.

@a2

And you are now a corporate spokesman/rules enforcer?

Or do you just get a special tingly feeling in your pants whenever you are subservient to someone in a role of authority?

@OP,

Let me give you an example... when you work, let's say in Expert Labs, Expert Labs never ever had to go to the IBM office because we always work with customers whether on site or remote that are 100s, 1000s miles away. What is the point for an Expert Labs guy to have to come to the IBM office to work with customers that are not there?
IBM will tell you to collaborate with other people?!?! Like who? Again, we have to focus on our customers that are 1000s miles away and work with them.

It is a waste a time, burns gas for nothing, not to mention add to traffic, etc...

We all know what the purpose of RTO is, pi-s people off so they resign, that way IBM does not have to pay severance when it does layoffs.

But hey, I am glad you are enjoying RTO. I think for you, we should make it 5 days a week! I have no doubt that will come some day...

Arvind mandated a return to the office. What part of that is difficult? Find another job if you want full remote
