Someone on my team is leaving but we are not getting a backfill...

My favorite is when leadership says it’s because they shifted the headcount to another team who needs it more and then act surprised when we ask them in return which workstreams they would like us to deprioritize or stop work on as if we were all just sitting idly, wishing for someone to give us work to do this whole time.
Best of outcomes to your team while you figure out how to eliminate that much work from the collective pile. Now at first you may resist and think “the customer and quality” so we have to do the same amount of work with less personnel but honestly if CVS doesn’t care, neither should you.
I just went soft….
So?
