Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

If they planned for retirement well (utilizing Citi 401k, Roth IRA, HSA, brokerage, HYSAs) then I think they’ll be ok. I started at Citi when I was 19 and plan on retiring in 20 years at 60. I’d love to get laid off around that time for the severance package, even though it maxes at a year of pay.

Fools. Employees with 40 years are probably asking for the layoff. 1 year pay plus notice period plus PTO plus unemployment let's us coast to retirement and delay starting our pension and social security. Most people with 30 plus years are in their mid 60s considering citi may not have been their first job.

@j2 Sorry but the worst colleagues in terms of output and attitude I've had to deal with are the 15+ years at Citi. Just looking toward retirement so have zero interest in needing to do what has to be done to grow and evolve.

Pretty disgusting to wish unfortunate circumstances on a fellow human. Getting laid off can be life shattering no matter who you are. You have no idea of someone's situation or why they may need to work. Do better.
